Overview

The London bus network is kept under regular review. As part of this, we develop proposals for changes to services.

Transport for London, (TfL),  developed proposals for route 235 and asked to hear your views.

The route 235 currently runs between Sunbury Village and Brentford County Court approximately every 8 minutes daily and every 12 minutes during evenings and on Sundays.

TfL worked with the London Borough of Hounslow to enhance bus services to the Great West Quarter development (GWQ) in Brentford. This is located on the corner of Ealing Road and the A4.

We proposed that 235 is extended from Brentford County Court along Brentford High Street and Ealing Road to GWQ, where buses will stop and use a proposed new standing facility.

We investigated several route options to serve GWQ and with route 65 already passing very close to the development route 235 offers the most additional benefits to the area. We are unable to divert route 65 in to GWQ as this would have created additional journey time for passengers already travelling on this busy route.

This proposal offers new direct links to:

  • Hounslow town centre
  • Feltham town centre
  • Local secondary schools

The route will no longer serve Back Lane, St. Paul’s Road and Half Acre Road in Brentford. However, customers could use nearby stops on the High Street.
