Bus stopping arrangements
Although the design did not initially intend that buses would set down or pick up bus users at the new stand location, the consultation response indicated that most respondents thought route 430 should do so. We are now planning to install a bus stop so people can get in and off outside the museum, but there would be no bus shelter. The operation of the new facilities will be kept under close review to ensure they work smoothly.
Additional development
The design of the Cromwell Gardens bus stand means we are converting the existing bus stand on south side of Cromwell Gardens into 26m coach parking.
This results in the loss of a facility to turn buses round ahead of their final destination. We need to replace this to be able to control and regulate the service in heavy traffic or unexpected disruption and we have now identified an opportunity to replace the facility on Cromwell Road.
We also consulted on the planned layout at 21-41 Cromwell Road. Please click here for more information.
TfL is planning to install a new bus stand for route 430 outside the Victoria and Albert museum on Cromwell Gardens. The intention is that route 430 moves to this site from the current temporary stand location on Cromwell Place. There would be minor changes to road layout to accommodate the new bus stand.

TfL plans to implement this scheme by end November 2011.
