We received 13 responses to the consultation. Nine responses were from members of the public and four were from stakeholders. Thanks to all those who provided their views.

Nine of the responses supported or partially supported the proposals, three responses said they did not support the proposals, and one did not answer.

We have considered all of the responses and have decided to permanently withdraw route 691 from 22 December 2016.

The London bus network is kept under regular review. As part of this, we develop proposals for changes to services.

What are we proposing?

The 691 currently runs between Richmond Road, Ham and The Hollyfield School, Surbiton. It runs one journey from Ham to The Hollyfield School in the morning with one journey from The Hollyfield School to Ham in the afternoon.

Following a review and to make better use of our resources we are proposing that route 691 would no longer run.

There are currently around 90 trips per day made on the 691. Passengers who currently use route 691 between Kingston and The Hollyfield School would be able to use either route 281, 406 or 418 instead. Around 10-15 pupils travel from north of Kingston. They would need to use route 65 and change buses at Kingston to complete their journey.

There would be no changes to routes 65, 281, 406 or 418.

Students travelling to The Hollyfield School on route 281 instead of route 691 would alight on St Marks Hill, around 250m from the school entrance. Those travelling on the 406 or 418 would use stops on Surbiton Hill Road, about 150m from the school.

Subject to the outcome of consultation the changes could take place in autumn 2016.
