Bus service proposal: routes 4 and 214

Closed 9 Dec 2011

Opened 3 Nov 2011

Results Updated 29 May 2012

Following the review of usage on routes 4 and 214, which showed an increase in passenger numbers on both routes at certain times of the day, Transport for London (TfL)recently consulted on proposals to increase the Saturday and Sunday daytime frequency on route 4 and to increase the weekend night frequency on route 214.

After carefully considering all responses, we have made a decision to go ahead with the proposed changes for both routes 4 and 214. We believe that both proposals will produce overall benefits for passengers.

The change to route 214 was introduced on 28 April 2012, and the change to route 4 will be introduced from 29 September 2012.

Overview

The London bus network is kept under regular review. As part of this, we develop proposals for changes to services.

Why we consulted

We developed proposals for routes 4 and 214 and asked for your views.

Route 4 (Archway Station – Waterloo)

Route 4 runs between Archway Station and Waterloo every 10 minutes Monday to Friday daytimes and every 15 – 20 minutes at weekends and in the evenings.

We proposed the Saturday and Sunday daytime frequencies from a bus every 15 minutes to every 12 minutes.

Route 214 (Highgate – Liverpool Street)

Route 214 runs between Highgate and Liverpool Street Station every 7 to 12 minutes. There is an overnight service every 20 minutes during weeknights and every 12 minutes during weekend nights.

We proposed to increase the weekend night frequency from a bus every 12 minutes to every 10 minutes.
