Bus service proposal: route 271

Closed 21 Apr 2011

Opened 17 Mar 2011

The London Bus Network is kept under regular review. As part of this, we develop proposals for changes to services.

Why we are consulting

We have developed proposals for route 271 and would like to hear your views.

Route 271 (Highgate Village – Moorgate, Finsbury Square)

Proposed changes:

From July 2011, the section of Liverpool Street between Blomfield Street and Old Broad Street will temporarily close for approximately five years for Crossrail work.  This closure will necessitate some changes to local bus routes.

At present, route 271 currently terminates at Liverpool Street bus station during the night and at weekends. During the day Monday – Friday, buses currently terminate at Finsbury Square.

Because of the closure of the section of Liverpool Street, we propose to terminate route 271 on the eastern side of Finsbury Square at all times.
