Bus service proposal: route 307

Results Updated 31 Jan 2012

Having reviewed all responses, we intend to proceed as proposed and divert route 307 to Barnet Hospital when work at the stand is completed in spring 2012.

This satisfies many longstanding requests to provide improved links into the hospital from the Enfield area. The change is supported by Barnet and Enfield Councils.

Responses from the area which will no longer be served by route 307 were generally opposed. We recognise that some users will have a lower frequency however these stops will remain served by route 107 every 15 minutes at most times.

We will be promoting the changes to the bus routes with further posters at affected stops. These will clearly explain how it affects local bus stopping arrangements. All changes will be kept under regular review.

Overview

The London Bus Network is kept under regular review. As part of this, we develop proposals for changes to services.

Why we consulted

Bus route 307 operates between Brimsdown station and Barnet, Arkley Hotel. Transport for London (TfL) have been working with the London Borough of Barnet and the local NHS trust to give better links to Barnet Hospital following requests from local stakeholders. We developed a proposal to divert bus route 307 to the Hospital and sought views.

The proposal was to re-route the 307 from Wood Street along Wellhouse Lane to Barnet Hospital where there will be a new standing facility and bus stop.

This would mean that the bus no longer serves two sets of stops along Wood Street. The first stop towards Brimsdown station would be at the Hospital, the second stop would be the current stop on Wood Street at the junction with The Avenue. Buses travelling towards Barnet Hospital would serve the current stop on Wood Street at the junction with Bells Hill and then travel to the hospital where passengers can also get off the bus.

Please see the map below detailing the change.
