Bus service proposal: routes 27, 440 & H91

Opened 20 Jun 2008

Overview

The London bus network is kept under regular review. As part of this, we develop proposals for changes to services.

In 2008, we consulted stakeholders and the public on proposals to change route H91 and extend routes 27 and 440.

Route H91 (Hammersmith to Hounslow West) and Route 440 (Gunnersbury, Power Road to Stonebridge Park)

We consulted on proposals to make route H91 run more directly along Chiswick High Road and to extend route 440 along Wellesley Road to Power Road in Gunnersbury.

Having reviewed the responses received and considered the issues raised, we decided to go ahead with the scheme. Changes were introduced on 9 January 2010.

We have also converted route H91 to operate with double-deck rather than single-deck buses.

The majority of respondents supported the proposals. However, there were some objections.

Route 27 (Turnham Green to Chalk Farm)

We consulted on proposals to extend route 27 to Chiswick Business Park. We hope to go ahead with this scheme in October 2010, once external funding has been agreed.

Buses would travel from Turnham Green along Chiswick High Road and through the business park before terminating at a new stop and stand towards the north of the business park.

The proposal was well-received by members of the public, with 70 per cent of respondents indicating that they supported the proposals and a further 14 per cent expressing no preference.
