  • Double red lines would continue to replace the existing red route controls along both sides of Godstone Road, up to the bus stops serving Garston Lane
  • Southbound, existing red route controls would start at the Godstone Road junction with Garston Lane
  • Northbound the existing red route controls would end on the approach to the Godstone Road junction with Valley View Gardens
  • The zebra crossing would be widened and upgraded with new lighting and the latest tactile paving. This would increase visibility for all road users and make the crossing a more prominent feature in the road.
  • The pavement around the zebra crossing would be reprofiled and resurfaced and white road markings would be refreshed
  • The zebra crossing zig-zag lines would be extended to increase visibility
  • Garston Lane bus-stop E would move further along Godstone Road to accommodate the extended zig-zag lines

It would not be possible to park where double red lines are introduced.
