Section 14

  • Southbound, existing red route controls would and end on the approach to Old Barn Lane
  • Northbound, the existing red route clearway would start after the Godstone Road junction with Old Barn Lane
  • Double red lines would be introduced up to the end of the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN) and London Borough of Croydon boundary
  • Bus stop G serving Old Barn Lane (towards Whyteleafe) would be moved further north, before the junction with Old Barn Lane
  • A new pedestrian crossing island would link in with the new bus stop, improving access to Rose House and Crown House
  • The proposed crossing point would also prevent other vehicles from overtaking on the bend, when customers may be accessing the bus
  • It would no longer be possible to park along the road towards Old Barn Lane. Instead, we propose to extend the pavement space to narrow the road, and create a formalised red route parking bay. This would result in reduced parking along this section of the road and would improve lines of sight
  • Double red lines would be extended into Old Barn Lane to prevent parking too close to the junction
  • The kerb line at Old Barn Lane would be realigned to improve the turning angle for vehicles entering and exiting the side road

It would not be possible to park where double red lines are introduced.

Our proposals end after Old Barn Lane, at the TLRN boundary
